As I walked along the shoreline of Upper Myakka Lake, I watched some Limpkins feeding on some clams. They dive under to grab the clam, bring it to shore and use their beak to break it open.

As I entered the area along the mouth of the river, I saw a large flock of Spoonbills flying to a spot just across from where I set up.

I captured this Spoonbill as it was leaving the mound of sticks in the fallen tree.

This pair both brought sticks and seemed to clash over whose space this was.

I'm not sure if they are building a nest. It seems low to the ground for a nest. The nesting season typically begins in April.

The overcast day helped show its beautiful pink colors.

I shot all of these with my new Fuji H2s. It has bird tracking, which helps keep the bird in focus. It has an electronic shutter that shoots at 40fps, giving you a lot of choices.

Yes, there were some large Gators on the shoreline across from me.

Photography should be fun! It's not about the phone or camera brand you're using. Remember, your best photographs result from one thing, making an effort to get out and shoot.
