On the northwest shore of Lake Hancock, Circle B Bar Reserve is a former cattle ranch that today boasts a wide variety of plants and animals. You can see several distinct ecosystems in this reserve of 1,267 acres.
It was overcast and cool (for Florida). On my last trip to the Park, I found an area West of the boat launch that flows into the river. It had a variety of birds, and I was hoping to see more Spoonbills.
Myakka River State Park is one of Florida's largest, oldest, and most diverse natural areas. It flows through 58 square miles of wetlands, prairies, and pinelands.
We went for an airboat ride with some friends on the Peace River.
Fall is a beautiful time of the year. The Sandhill Cranes gather for their annual migration to warmer weather.
