Larry McCray
Our friend Greg whom we camped next to our first winter in Rockport, TX., is visiting us. We took him to one of my favorite venues, the Bohn Theatre in downtown Albion. Greg admitted he's never been a blues fan, but I thought this acoustic set might be slightly different than what he saw in the past.
Larry is from Magnolia, Arkansas, and is the second youngest of nine siblings. His family moved to Saginaw, MI., in 1972. Larry played with his brothers Carl and Steve in local clubs.
I've seen Larry several times over the years, but this is the first acoustic show. Seeing him perform solo, with his skilled guitar playing and clear baritone voice, was a treat.
About an hour into the show, Larry brought a local favorite, Jake Kershaw, to the stage.
We've followed Jake for several years, and it was a real treat having him accompanying Larry playing a few songs.
I enjoy listening to and taking photos of Jake performing. As Greg stated, "man, he gets into the music."
Things were heating up with Jake and Larry playing some blues favorites. Larry removed his hat, whipped his brow, and kept on playing.

Photography should be fun! It's not about the phone or camera brand you're using. Remember, your best photographs result from one thing, making an effort to get out and shoot.
