My sister Karen has lived just a mile from the lighthouse in Northport Michigan for many years. She decided to move to Traverse City and she purchased a condo. I've always enjoyed visiting her, we both love photography. My visits always include a drive around the area to take wildlife photographs.
On my drive up to see her I was wondering if we are still going to be able to find wildlife to photograph. Traverse City is very different from the woods of Northport.
I arrived around 3 p.m. and after she showed me her beautiful new condo we headed out to dinner. She took me out for a really nice perch dinner at one of the local favorites, Sleder's Tavern.
After dinner we headed out to see if we could find some wildlife to photograph. To my surprise she already had found some areas around Traverse City with lots of wildlife. We found a few Blue Herons in a small pond, some Sandhill Cranes in the field, a Whitetail Deer and another pond with lots of ducks and geese.
It looks like our tradition of photographing wildlife on my visits is in good hands.
