On my morning walk with my dog Kaycie we were surprised by a pair of mature Bald Eagles. They were sitting in this tall tree over-looking the lake. I watched them for a few minutes, then turned around and headed back to the house to get my camera. Kaycie was not happy with me cutting her morning walk short.
When I returned with my camera they were still sitting in the tree, just looking around, watching the water. Before I could get a picture of both of them together one lurched off the branch in flight. I was prepared as I already had my set camera for taking birds in flight.
The second one sat in the tree for about and hour. I watched quietly and took more photographs. Bald Eagles are very aware or there surroundings. You can scare one off really easy with any sudden movement.
They fly effortlessly, soaring over the water, looking so majestic in flight.
Watching them sit in the tree you can see why they are at the top of the bird food chain. I never tire taking pictures of Bald Eagles. I hope they stay around the lake so I have more opportunities to photograph them.
