Bean Blossom Blues Festival

My wife Eileen and I took a five-day trip down to Nashville IN. for some shopping, riding, and to see our first Bean Blossom Blues Festival.

Nashville, in Brown County has some really nice motorcycle riding. We started each day with a nice little ride that took us through lots of hilly, twisty, and long winding roads. Most’s of the roads are in really nice conditions.

After our ride we ended up in downtown Nashville. It’s loaded with shops and places to eat. We learned after the first day that we had better get there early in the afternoon as most shops close by 5 pm. It seemed kind of strange to us that a tourist town would close down at 5 during the summer months. Most shops didn’t even open until 10-11.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights we attended our first Bean Blossom Blues Festival. The festival in its 20th year is held at the Bill Monroe campground. It’s not like any other blues festival we’ve attended. With over 60 acres of wooded area it made the perfect spot for the festival, providing a lot of shade from the mature trees.

The lineup for the three-day festival was as good as we have ever seen. Headliner after headliner took the stage and entertained the large crowds. Saturday night featured a lineup that included Bernard Allison, Tommy Castro & the Pain Killers, and the Danielle Nicole Band.

If you like the blues, the Bean Blossom Blues Festival is one you should attend!
