Spring Break
Last winter, we left before Texas had spring break. We heard stories about how crazy it gets at the beaches. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 78, and we had plans to go on the ferry to Port A with our friends Dave and Sue. We decided to go to Rockports beach as the wait across the ferry probably would have been over an hour.
As we arrived, it was busy, but the beach is a nearly one-mile-long community beach fronting Aransas Bay. It was fun watching all the families playing on the beach and water.
The Laughing Gulls were everywhere looking for a snack. This one walked right up to me, turned its head, seemingly asking, "do you have a snack for me?"
Sue was eating some snacks, and the Gulls were hovering over us; she threw a chip up in the air. The Gull caught it in mid-air like it was playing center field.
Dave was also taking some photographs, and we both were amazed how the Gulls floated through the air, gliding with the wind.
The Brown Pelicans were also out in the bay. They dove into the water, looking for food. I watched this one for a few minutes, and to my surprise, it flew right towards me and went overhead.
Beautiful weather, great friends; it just does not get any better than this!
Photography should be fun! It's not about the phone or camera brand you're using. Remember, your best photographs result from one thing, making an effort to get out and shoot.
Comments are always welcomed.
