Spring in Michigan! Warmer weather, Robins are plentiful, Sandhill Cranes are migrating back to their summer habitat, trees are budding, and the flowers are starting to bloom.
Sounds lovely, but wait, it's Michigan! Did old man winter look at the calendar? Today is April 17th!
We woke with the ground covered with snow, and it looks like it will continue throughout the day.
The good news is that we all know it will not last long. Tomorrow's forecast is for mostly sunny and 52 degrees. Let's hope this is old man winters last gasp of snow.
I was trying to wait for it to stop snowing to take some pictures, but it just kept snowing. Finally, after about an hour, I ventured out to take some photographs.
I was driving, looking at the beautiful snowfall hanging on the trees, in the fields, and along the rivers.
There were not many cars on the road, so it made it easy to pull over, hop out of the Jeep to take photographs. You can get tunnel vision and not pay attention. At one location, I walked to the other side of the road and started photographing. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice something moving. Wow, my Jeep was going down the road, heading for the ditch! I ran after it, open the door, and jumped in just before it went into the ditch. Did you know you have to put it in Park before getting out?
It felt good to get out of the house and take some photographs. Stay safe; I hope you enjoyed the post.
