Festivus, the cardboard sled race in its 12th year has become a family tradition in Battle Creek. Hosted at the Leila Arboretum and partnered with the Battle Creek Metropolitan Area Moustache Society (BCMAMS) means one thing, everyone is going to have fun.
Just a few days before the event the hills were green with no snow. Then "the miracle of Festivus" happened, a fresh coat of snow blessed the event. Was there ever any doubt?
At the cardboard sled race, you'll see just about any type of sled imaginable. It's fun just walking around looking at what people built with cardboard, tape, and paint.
The large crowd cheered as the kid's sleds went first followed by the adult competition. I think everyone young and old enjoyed the day.
The Battle Creek Metropolitan Area Moustache Society is a volunteer-based non-profit organization focused on raising money for local people or organizations in need, through coordinating and organizing fun events at local establishments or venues.
